Raymon Anthony Doane
Denver Clerk & Recorder
Responsible, Accessible, Dependable
About Me

I grew up in Northeast Denver, which is where I still reside. A product of Denver Public Schools, I graduated from George Washington High School. I continued my education at Community College of Aurora and CSU-Pueblo and graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science degree in management. As a Denver native, my passion and dedication in my professional and personal life has been focused on preserving Colorado’s amazing culture and rich history. Contributing to the continual improvement of this great community that so many of us call home is something I take great pride in.

Whether working as a public servant in one of my many government positions including track coach for the City of Lakewood, elections judge and voter clerk for the City and County of Denver, field representative for the U.S. Census Bureau, Property Tax Specialist for Colorado Department of Local Affairs, or a Tax Examiner for the Colorado Department of Revenue; or working in the private sector in various fields ranging from construction to financial services, members of this community have always been my number one priority. I have always had to work two or three jobs, so I know what it means to work hard and work often to make a better life for me, my family, and my community. If elected as Denver’s Clerk and Recorder, I will continue to work hard for the people of Denver and promise to never lose sight of what matters most, you.

As Denver’s Clerk and Recorder, I will advance campaign finance reform to enhance transparency and accountability; promote voter participation in elections, especially youth participation; improve the public’s knowledge and understanding about the responsibilities of the Clerk and Recorder’s office including the office’s role in processing marriage licenses and overseeing foreclosures. I will uphold my predecessors’ legacy and protect the rights of Denver residents by continuing to process equal marriage licenses and marriage licenses for traditional couples. If elected to serve Denver, I promise to simplify governmental processes, reduce the administrative burden, save time and money; but most importantly, I promise to work with the people and for the people to increase public participation and awareness, so the Denver government can achieve its’ one and only function, to serve the residents and proprietors of the City and County of Denver.
